Pauch is the
Master at New Egypt, Wins 2nd Straight
New Egypt, NJ (April 14, 2012) – Billy Pauch of Frenchtown, NJ
won his second straight feature of the 2012 season at New Egypt
Speedway Saturday night as he captured the 30 lap Modified feature
event sponsored by Cray Motorsports. Just like last week Pauch took
the lead just after halfway and cruised to his 105th career feature
win at the track, beating his son by 5 car lengths.

“My son has a good team this year (Petruska Motorsports) and is very
tough, but a lot of these young guys are tough” stated Pauch in
victory lane, “With young guys like Danny Bouc, Dave Hunt and Tommy
Carberry out there, I think it is tougher to win here than last year!”
Mike McAleer and Tommy Carberry Jr. brought the 25 car field to
the start with McAleer getting command. McAleer looked to be the class
of the field over the first 10 laps as he ran away and hid from the
rest of the field. However that all came to an end under yellow on lap
10 when McAleer suddenly retired from the event with mechanical
problems while leading, giving the top spot to Carberry Jr. Carberry
didn’t disappoint as he raced away on the restart while Pauch and his
son Billy Pauch Jr. moved up into second and third respectfully. One
lap past halfway, Pauch beat Carberry into turn 3 and took the lead
for good. Meanwhile Pauch Jr. quickly grabbed second and was able to
keep pace with dad over the final 10 laps of the event, but unable to
get closer than 3 car lengths. For Pauch Jr. it was his best finish of
the season at NES as he continues to get better every week. Ryan
Godown, who seemed to struggle during the first half of the race came
on strong in the final half to post a popular third. Gary Butler
crossed the line in the fourth position and DVH David Van Horn rounded
out the top five.

Rocco Infante of Robbinsville, NJ won his first feature event of 2012
at New Egypt. The three time defending Sportsman champion wrestled the
lead away from leader Gene Stravinsky with just three laps remaining
to claim the win. Stravinsky settled for second, while young DJ
Ruppert continues to impress as he finished third. Newcomer Chris Lane
was fourth and Mike Howardson was impressive coming home fifth.

John Carpenter of Howell, NJ won the 20 lap Outlaw Stock feature for
his first win of 2012. Carpenter held off a persistent Jarrod Burdge
for the win. Dan Collamer was third, followed by Gary Klimeczak and
Ron Freese.
Next Saturday night, April 21, New Egypt Speedway
presents Little League Night sponsored by Ocean Medical. The racing
will feature a full card of Big-Block Modifieds, Crate-1 Sportsman,
FASTRAK Late Models, Tri-State Race Savers 305 Sprint Cars and Rookie
Sportsman. Gates open at 4:00 p.m. with the first race starting at
6:00 pm. For more information, call the speedway office at (609)
