New Egypt Speedway Fall Maintenance Completed – Additional Clay Added and Safety Nets Secured

New Egypt, NJ– With the long winter quickly approaching, New Egypt Speedway has completed its annual fall maintenance ahead of what looks to be the first snow fall of the season. The track crew laid down several truck loads of new, filler clay that will have plenty of time to settle before the Saturday, March 21, 2015, Opening Night.

“It was very important that we get the clay down before the long winter settled in,” said New Egypt Speedway owner Fred Vahlsing. “We added several loads of clay that were grated into the existing clay and will have plenty of time to settle before the start of our 2015 season.”

In addition to the new, filler clay, the track crew was busy securing the safety netting around the entire perimeter of the grandstands side of the Speedway. The safety netting is a key component to keeping the fans safe on a weekly basis and is diligently secured every winter to prevent damage.
