Despite Hand Injury The Show Must Go On For Jimmy Blewett
By: Pete MacDonald
When New Egypt Speedway had the night off for 358 Modified’s this past Saturday night “Showtime” Jimmy Blewett did what every other racer in this country would do, Find something to race. Blewett would team up with The Boardwick’s to drive their potent #18 in which Jimmy cruised to a Turkey Derby win with last November at Wall Stadium for their season opener this past Saturday.
Blewett would time trial ninth for the 40 lap affair but would be involved in a multi-car pileup on lap seven ending his night. The real story was when Blewett got back to his pit stall and reached for an ice pack to put on his hand which got caught up in the steering wheel during the incident.
Like a true throwback racer would answer, When asked about his hand and if Blewett will be in attendance at New Egypt on Saturday Jimmy simply answered “It’s ok, Hell Yeah we’ll be good”.
Blewett currently sits fourth in the 358 Modified Point Standings at New Egypt Speedway and has had a strong start to the 2015 campaign with three Top-10 finishes to date.
Doing whatever it will take to race, The Show will go on and Jimmy Blewett will be in attendance this Saturday night at New Egypt Speedway.
