All-Star Field Set for $1,000
Winner Take All
Xtreme Graphics "Rogie Rumble III" on Friends of Mike
(July 23, 2012) – The fans of New Egypt
Speedway have voted and once again their voices have been heard loud
and clear. Forget the points this time! It’s all about who the
fans wanted to see battle it out one lap at a time. For the
third consecutive year the ‘xtremely’ popular modified one on one
match races will take center stage on Friends of Mike Night July 28.
Xtreme Graphics has stepped up to the plate and once again will
sponsor the ‘Rogie Rumble III’. Adam Huff and Dan Fleming of
Asbury, NJ have operated the full service graphics/design company
since 2005. They offer everything from custom logo design,
signs, banners, to vehicle graphics and wraps.
lettering race cars is a big part of our business and we thought
sponsoring this event would be a great opportunity to give back to
the sport we all love and have been involved with,” offered Fleming.
“Our customers include Ryan Godown, Billy Pauch and Willie Osmun,”
Fleming added. For more information you can visit Xtreme
NES fans casted over 400 votes as 73 different drivers
received votes this past Saturday at the track. The top 5 New Egypt
regulars and top 5 ‘Outsiders’ that received votes have been locked
into the Rogie Rumble III.
For the second straight year the
driver leading the way in the voting ballots was Neshanic Station,
NJ’s Jimmy Horton. Horton, always a fan-favorite where ever he
races, is looking to continue his solid and successful 2012 season.
Teaming up with long-time car owner Dieter Schmidt, Horton has been
a force to be reckoned with all season long no matter what venue he
races at. The ‘Sensational One’ has done more traveling during the
first half of this season then all of 2011 which has got this crafty
veteran all pumped up for the ‘big money’ races that await during
the second half of the season. A win in the Rogie Rumble III
could lead to a great finish in the 100-lap F.O.M. feature as Horton
is always a threat in extra-distance races.
behind Horton was Frenchtown, NJ’s Billy “The Kid” Pauch. Pauch, the
all-time feature winner at NES, righted his ship last weekend
breaking a two month winless spell at the speedway. Pauch has
been dubbed the ‘king’ of the match races since its inception almost
a decade ago. Trailing Pauch by a single vote was his son Billy
Pauch Jr. Whether you call him ‘The Legacy,’ ‘The Kid’s Kid,’
or ‘Little Billy’ he has turned heads all season long at his new
home track NES. Driving for the potent Petruska/Atlas Paving
Team, Pauch Jr. already has two feature wins this year at New Egypt.
Two-time NES track champion and former winner of F.O.M. Rick Laubach
was the fourth highest in the voting statistics from this past
weekend. ‘The Quaker Shaker’ may not be a regular at NES in 2012 but
he certainly has not forgotten the quick route around his former
Current point leader Ryan Godown rounded
out the top 5 in the overall voting for the Rogie Rumble III. The
‘Ringoes Rocket’ has been solid all year long, racing to four
victories while padding his comfortable point lead.
Rochester, NY’s Danny Johnson finished sixth in the balloting. ‘The
Doctor’ will be looking to make a ‘house call’ when the Rogie Rumble
III stages in the infield on July 28.
2012 Race of Champions
Cabin Fever 60 winner Stewart Friesen received plenty of votes which
locked him into Saturday’s match races as did 2007 modified track
champion Matt Sheppard. Rounding out the field for next week’s
Rogie Rumble III will be two NJ hot shoes who have had stellar
seasons thus far in the competitive weekly wars at NES.
Hometown Hero Ron John Koczon and Sammy Martz rounded out the top 10
in all of the votes that were casted. Koczon has one victory
this season while Martz has been knocking on the door all year long.
Defending Friends of Mike winner Tim McCreadie is automatically
locked into Saturday’s Rogie Rumble. ‘T-Mac’ came into town and
conquered NES last year for a $20,000 pay day. McCreadie also
came within three laps of winning this year’s R.o.C. Cabin Fever
race back in March. Two more drivers will be added to the field on
the night of July 28 as they will start off the eliminations against
each other in the first match race. Those two slots will be filled
by the two drivers turning the quickest laps in their respective
heat races. $1,000 awaits the ‘Xtreme Graphics’ Rogie Rumble
III winner along with a beautiful trophy and life-sized check
compliments of Xtreme Graphics of course.
