Premio is Back for
"Friends of Mike" Sausage Eating Contest Take 2
New Egypt, NJ (July 17, 2012) – Get
ready for Round #2 as Premio Foods is BACK!!! New Egypt
Speedway will certainly be the place to be on July 28 for the 7th
Annual Friends of Mike Night and this time there’s a sausage eating
contest added to the mix. Premio Foods, who will be sponsoring a
portion of the evening’s activities at the speedway, will also be
presenting the second-ever Premio Italian Sausage eating contest.
Premio has been the official sausage of New Egypt Speedway for the
past decade, which is cooked and served weekly by Maxwell’s Special
Events Catering.
Premio Foods is one of the leading sausage
manufacturers in the country and is proud to be a part of New Egypt
Speedway. They have been passionate about making fine Italian
sausage for decades, and continues the tradition in their family
today. Their delicious mild Italian sausage, fresh bracioli and
sweet lugiana are traditional Italian favorites, but they also honor
other classic ethnic varieties with their hearty bratwurst, beer

contest will take place on the front stretch during the intermission
of the Friends of Mike activities. Just like back in April, custom
aprons and hats will be given out to the participants in the
contest. There are 15 available spots open for the contestants. The
first place prize will be a $100 American Express gift card, with
second place receiving a $50 Premio Foods voucher, and third place
earning a $25 Premio Foods voucher. The fans of New Egypt will get
to see just who can eat six full sausage links the quickest.
Premio Foods representative Pete Telesco was extremely happy with
the inaugural eating contest held back in April. “We loved having
the contest earlier in the year even though the weather didn’t
cooperate with the track. The atmosphere during the sausage contest
as it was raining was fantastic. I can’t even imagine what it’s
going to be like on Friends of Mike Night,” offered Telesco.
Premio Foods will generously be donating some of their great tasting
sausages earlier in the day at the fan-favorite pre-race F.O.M.
free-to-the-public BBQ. Telesco and gang will have plenty of
giveaways and coupons that will be given out to the fans in
attendance on this unforgettable night of racing. There will be
plenty of food, prizes, and of course racing on what is shaping up
to be one of the best Friends of Mike events ever.

You must be 18 years or older to compete in the contest. The first
15 fans to register will be the contestants in action on July 28.
The action will be hot and heavy on Saturday, July 28 as the
mighty Big Block Modifieds headline the action as they compete in
the 100-lap $10,000 to win F.O.M. event. The Sportsman will battle
it out for a $1,500 top prize while the Outlaw Stocks will race for
an increased winner’s share of $1,000. The Rogie Rumble will also
return for a third straight season as $1,000 awaits the last man
standing in the popular one on one match races. Adult admission is
$30, Active Military and Students 12-15 years of age are $15, and as
always children 11 and under are free. Gates open at 2pm with
racing starting at 6pm.
