Yankee Classic Kicks Off Big Month of
July
New Egypt, NJ (July 2, 2012)
–
The month of
July will be one to remember at New Egypt Speedway in 2012. Now
that summer is in full swing, fans will need to mark their calendars
starting this week. Independence Day celebration will kick off
this month’s events followed by Christmas in July, Bike Night, and the
Friends of Mike Night.
The month starts off on July 7 with New
Egypt’s annual Independence Day Celebration sponsored by Dustin’s
Mechanical along with RJS Heating & Air Conditioning. Dustin's
Mechanical is a full service repair business specializing in pool
removal, mechanical services, and general excavation servicing all of
central NJ. New Egypt’s own modified driver Ron John Koczon and
his family-owned business RJS Heating and Air Conditioning have been a
proud supporter of the Fourth of July racing in most recent years.
The Rislone URC Sprint Series will make their first of two
appearances in the state of New Jersey this Saturday. Kevin
Darling leads the winged brigade into the Garden State as the point
leader after the first six events. Robbie Stillwaggon, Davie
Franek, Randy West, and Ed Aiken round out the top 5 in the URC point
standings who all plan on visiting victory lane at NES.
The
Big-Block Modifieds will share the twin-bill as the headliner on
Saturday as current point leader Ryan Godown will lead a talent-laden
field of modifieds to the track this weekend. All-time NES feature
winner Billy Pauch almost got back to his winning ways this past weekend
as he came up just one spot short of a victory, finishing second to his
son Billy Jr. Sammy Martz, David Van Horn, Mike Iles, and Tad Cox
are just a few of the modified hot shoes looking to crack the winner’s
circle for the first time in 2012.
Along with the competitive NES
contingent, Bridgeport Speedway standouts Jimmy Horton, Richie Pratt,
and Rick Laubach might be in attendance with Bridgeport Speedway having
a rare Saturday night off.
The Modifieds will take center stage
when the ‘Big Bang Bonanza’ hits the track this Saturday. The top
10 in the point standings along with two wildcard drivers will slug it
one on one, a lap at a time until there is only one man left standing.
The annual match races are a huge hit with the fans at NES year in and
year out.
Rounding out the July 7 show will be the Garden State
Vintage Stock Car Club. The cars of the 60’s, 70’s, and 80’s will
be on display both on and off the track this holiday weekend.
A
huge fireworks display presented by Garden State Fireworks courtesy of
New Egypt Speedway will take place at the completion of the night’s
activities.
General Admission gates open at 4:00pm while racing
