FASTRAK
Racing Series Late Models In New Jersey in 2010
FASTRAK
Welcomes New Egypt Speedway
FASTRAK
North Atlantic Region
Carnesville,
GA (November 4, 2009) - In an unprecedented move in an area
where big block modifieds are king and have enjoyed a storied
and rich history spanning generations, the FASTRAK Racing Series
announced today the addition of New Egypt Speedway in New Egypt NJ to
the growing network of tracks sanctioned by the Carnesville, GA based
national sanctioning body. Not only will New Egypt Speedway, located
between Philadelphia and New York City feature FASTRAK Racing Series
Late Models in 2010, but in the years to follow as well according to
New Egypt Speedway track manager Danny Serrano.
“We
are committed to this long term” said Serrano. ‘While many tracks
look for instant results when going in a new direction, we’ve done
the exact opposite here at NES. Our big block modifieds will always be
our marquis headliner, but we feel that based on the growth of the
FASTRAK Racing Series, and the overwhelming success of the level
playing field environment FASTRAK maintains for all its teams, we felt
the addition of the FASTRAK Racing Series here at New Egypt is a win-
win not only for the competitors, but our fans.”
Serrano
went on to add “as racy as our facility is, the addition of a class
where everyone has the same motors and the same tires should produce
some pretty exciting racing. FASTRAK is pretty adamant when it comes
to the rules and it seems they have succeeded in this area where
others have struggled.”
“We
think there is a place in this area for the crate late models” said
Serrano. We’re definitely going to stick with this program; in fact
we’re planning on a worst case scenario. We have a five year plan in
place. We know the number of cars that start the 2010 season will be
slim. We’re looking for at least five to begin the year and expect
it will grow. Hopefully, before the fourth year in, we’ll have a
full field each night. We vow to remain committed and patient.”
“From
a race fan standpoint, our goal is to offer our fans different classes
of race cars that are not similar in looks.”
New
Egypt Speedway is the first track to be sanctioned in the new FASTRAK
Racing Series North Atlantic Region and Regional Director Michael
Sweet. The FASTRAK North Atlantic Region is comprised of Connecticut,
Delaware, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, and
Vermont.
“New
Egypt Speedway is a first class facility” said Sweet. “I’m
looking forward to working with Danny and everyone at NES. We’re
proud to be involved with them. The FASTRAK concept allows a racer the
opportunity to put together a competitive piece at a reasonable cost.
The rules mandated by the series are as fair and balanced as any I
know of anywhere in the country. Once the drivers get to know us and
how FASTRAK operates, they’ll love it.”
Sweet
is hoping the early New Egypt Speedway announcement will help sway
tracks currently on the fence in terms of plans for the 2010 racing
season. “If we can get four or five tracks in this region, we can
then schedule regional touring races as well as create a FASTRAK North
Atlantic Touring Series complete with a point championship earmarked
exclusively for those who compete in this region.”
“This
is just the beginning” says Sweet.
